Hi Folks, My Xperia E C1505 is locked to the network TescoMobile here in Ireland. Is this a SIM lock, or a Network lock, or is one the same as the other? Anyway, what can be done to enable me to use the phone on any network. And more important, can you help me with this? Thx

Payment methods!!

23 Mar 2014

Hello, here are my current payment methods.

1. Paypal (free)

1.a - With a paypal account

1.b - Without a paypal account as guest with credit/debit card

2. UK only bank transfer (free)

3. Bank Transfer overseas (Charges)

You must take care of any charges and make sure the exchange rates are correct

4. Western Union (Charges)

I charge a travelling charge of £5.00 GBP Please take this into account when I give you a price.

If the cost is £15 you would make sure I receive £20.00 GBP

5. Cheque (free)

The cheque should me made payable to Glen Barnes and be for the correct amount. I would not unlock the phone until the funds have cleared into my bank typically 3-4 working days

If anyone knows any other good payment methods then feel free to drop me a line..

Best regards

Sony Arc S LT18i - bootloader unlock

20 Mar 2014

Hello,

I'm new in this forum.

I read that you are able to unlock the bootloader of the Sony devices.

I have a Sony LT18i (11W46) and with the option "Bootloader unlock allowed: no".

the simlock is already been unlocked.

Is it possible to unlock to be able to install other roms? And how does it cost?

Thank you for your reply

[GUIDE] Xperia Bootloader Unlock, Unlock Sim Enable Fastboot

22 Dec 2011

Q. Android bootloader?

Every Android phone has a bootloader that instructs the operating system kernel to boot normally. But you need to understand one thing here that as Android OS is an open source OS and is available on a variety of different hardware, every manufacturer has their own version of bootloader specific for the hardware present in it’s environment. We also saw couple of weeks back that Motorola packaged an “eFuse” command in their Android phones, which could brick (permanently turn off) your device in case you tried to flash a Custom ROM.
Why is Bootloader Locked ?

Q. Why is it locked?

A bootloader is usually locked on an Android device because although it’s an open source OS, still the manufacturers want you to stick to their Android OS version specifically designed for the device. In order to apply this concept, manufacturers lock the bootloader. With a locked bootloader on Android devices, it is virtually impossible to flash a Custom ROM and forced attempts void warranty as well as usually end up in bricks. Therefore, the first step is to always unlock the bootloader.

Q. Why To Unlock Bootloader On Android Devices?

The explanation to this question is really simple. If you want root, you’d be wanting to flash Custom ROM post-root, and if you want to install a Custom ROM, you’d need to have your stock bootloader unlocked. In simple terms Unlocking the bootloader allows you to install custom Firmware on your Android phone.

This is from the Sony Ericsson site...

Note: We have seen in some forums that customers unlocking the boot loader on their phones have experienced problems when they accept a FOTA (Firmware upgrade Over The Air) update. The issue has been reproduced and we are working on a solution. For customers that have unlocked the boot loader please do not accept the Firmware upgrade OTA.

^^^^^^This does not apply to unlocking via setool^^^^^^

Some requirements...

  • Windows XP/Vista/7 and Windows 8 [Note.... Windows XP REQUIRES Windows Update enabled]
  • An internet connection at least 1mbps is preferred
  • Paypal or moneybookers account and ready to send payments (Don't have a paypal account? Click HERE to pay with credit/debit card as it's faster than creating an account)

This can be ignored as unlocking with me you can still update via any methods.

Also please do not unlock your phone with octupus software. This software can damage your phone and will be cheaper to come straight to me.
Customers who have unlocked via Octupus Software may incure an extra charge of £5.00 GBP

So here it is smile.png

Unlocking officially with Sony comes with disadvantages
Damaged DRM key, losing the ability to update with SEUS, bricking your phone doing the OTA update...
Using software called setool you can minimise all those risks.

I am offering bootloader unlocks for £15.00 GBP £10.00 GBP As gift + optional donation.

To get this done or any questions I can be contacted here smile.png

Supported phones...

Any Xperia produced in 2010/11 and some produced in 2012.
Does not include Xperia E, Xperia J, Xperia Tipo or Xperia Miro. To unlock these phones click HERE

This thread will be updated as this was just a rough topic.

Regards,

Jinx13

LT18i Bootloader Unlock

16 Feb 2014

Hey, I'm trying to unlock the XPeria Arc S of my friend.
I heard that some models are not unlockable at all so I wanted to ask first.
The battery says 12w09 and the device itself is 12w11.
Is it possible to unlock the phone's bootloader?

Thanks in advance!

PS: Bootloader unlock allowed: No, T-Mobile AT branded and sim-locked.
